Absolutely. Our baseboard covers are manufactured in all of the common industry standard lengths but we realize that some homes have baseboard heaters that have previously been cut to fit a particular space. We will cut any standard length baseboard panel to your custom size(s). There is NO EXTRA CHARGE for factory custom cuts. To order a custom length baseboard panel, simply order the next standard size up and e-mail us after your order has been placed online and include the PayPal order reference number. An Order Acknowledgement will be sent to confirm your custom length panels.
Our baseboard covers are designed primarily for use on hot water baseboard heaters, but can be used to fit over many electric heaters with use of wall brackets. *Note this is not a cool to the touch solution, panels will get hot. For more details on installation see our retrofitting guide.
Although our baseboard covers were developed to primarily address the need of making baseboard heaters look a whole lot nicer, the one-piece design has proven to also be an effective way of keeping flammable toys and little fingers away from the heating element. For more information on the safety of our products please see our child safety guide.
Our baseboard covers are built to last and are made from steel that is galvanized. Galvanizing is a process that uses an electric charge to "stick on" a thin coating of zinc. We then apply an epoxy-based powder coated layer over top of the zinc. With two layers of protective coatings between the raw steel and the elements, we are confident all of our standard products will last a very long time before the natural oxidation process can start.
Most interior architectural trim is specified with an eggshell or semi-gloss white finish thus our baseboard covers are readily available in a semi-gloss white finish. The minimum order quantity for a custom color is 500 linear feet of panel. Custom colors carry an additional one time flat fee of $195. For smaller requirements, the most common method of achieving a custom color is to apply a coat of paint. Painting can involve either a spray on or roll on application. Using a primer first is always a good idea, but is not an absolute requirement for ensuring a satisfactory "stick" to the factory finish. Note: the 1/8" diameter holes on all baseboard panels will NOT be clogged up by paint. Also, special high-heat paint is not required for hot water baseboard heaters.
By maintaining a gap (varying in height depending on the original baseboard heater being retrofitted) between the floor and the cover cool air currents within the room will freely pass through the bottom of the finned tube element and exit out of the numerous baseboard perforations ensuring optimal heating output.
The simple answer is labor. Our solution has one major difference over all the rest; there is a near zero labor component to our slip on design. Most other solutions require the removal and reattachment of the back cover to the wall; a solution that usually involves cutting nails, patching drywall and many hours of work. Installation is so simple, even a child could do it.

Yes. Any size, any shape, any pattern. Grilles can also be supplied in both concave and convex profiles.
The reference to holes refers to the screw holes for mounting the vent cover. Mounting holes are most often required for a side wall or ceiling application, though typically not for a drop-in floor grille, countertop or window sill application unless the customer would like to secure the grille into any of these surfaces.
If the inside measurement on the vent cover you're looking at is listed as 12"x8" you can cut your hole 12"x8" and the lip will fit into your opening. For more information about measuring please see our Measure & Install Section.
The standard grille thickness is 1/2". The flat frame protrudes 3/16" into the room.

You can mimic marble, steel, stone, wood or almost any other material you like. The color choices are endless. Unfinished grilles are NOT white. They are a light egg-shell color and are intended to be painted.
